2017 San Diego Recap

The W.A.R. Lords competed at the San Diego Regional on February 9th to 11th. After our first two matches we were temporarily ranked first. Due to a few very close loses, we ended up ranked 29th. Team 6025, the Adroit Androids from Istanbul, Turkey, graciously picked us to join the third alliance and we picked Team 2144, the Gators. Our alliance performed exceptionally well in the quarter-finals, winning both matches. In our third match of the semi-finals, we were ahead of the red alliance when the ropes were deployed, 141 points to 95 points. Unfortunately, the Gators’ climber broke down, and we narrowly lost the match 241 to 245.

Although we could not make it to the finals, we saw our team pull together, communicate, listen and work together in great ways and are incredibly proud of what we have accomplished. The regional has given us a great opportunity to improve our strategy and robot, and we are very excited to compete at the Las Vegas Regional on April 6th to 8th.
