Mid-Season Update

With information booths, food, an amazing emcee, dancers, and of course our robot, Nightingale, our Robot Reveal was super successful! With over 150 attendees, consisting of students, family, teachers, and even sponsors, this was our biggest robot reveal yet! We really enjoyed sharing our robot and Impact Award video, along with the activities and events we’ve held throughout the year. Joined with our school Pep Band, we showcased our robot to all grades, allowing some of Parker’s youngest students to get a closer look at Nightingale.

Last weekend, we also attended the Ventura County Regional. It was wonderful to meet other teams and compete alongside them! From helping teams with repairs in the pit to competing alongside the other 46 teams to arrange hundreds of cones and cubes. As captains of the 6th seed alliance, we were joined by teams 1891 and 4698. We came in 8th and had a lot of fun! In addition, we won the Industrial Design Award, which celebrates creative and effective robot design, and junior Nathalie won the Safety FIRST Award!

We’d like to give a big shout out to everyone who supported our team during and before the match– from Build students working diligently to repair Nightingale, to our amazing Impact presenters, everyone was working so hard to help our success! We’d also like to thank our parent volunteers and mentors who managed the snack table, helped with organization, and managed everything behind the scenes.

We’ve had a very eventful and fun last couple weeks, and we look forward to going to the San Diego Regional next week!
